Dr. Ted Mitchell, M.D

Date: Tuesday, October 26th (7:00 pm CDT)

Dr. Mitchell is the current chancellor of the Texas Tech University System. Before his current position as chancellor, Dr. Mitchell served as the president at Texas Tech Health Science Center. Dr. Mitchell graduated from Stephen F. Austin with his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Mitchell will discuss how to apply to Medical School and how to be a competitive applicant. This event is open to everyone.

Ethan Mitchell

Ethan Mitchell is a current Doctor of Physical Therapy student at San Angelo State University. As an undergraduate Ethan attended Texas Tech University majoring in kinesiology and exercise science. Also, during his time at Texas Tech Ethan was president of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club. Ethan will be talking about applying to Physical Therapy School and how to be a competitive applicant. Additionally, Ethan will discuss his experiences as a Physical Therapy student. This event is open to everyone.

Texas Tech University Health Science Center Students

A panel of medical students who currently attend Texas Tech University Health Science Center will talk about their experiences applying to medical school and how to be a competitive applicant. If you have any questions about medical school or applying this is a great opportunity to get different student perspectives. This event is open to everyone.

Dr. Ian Armstrong, M.D

Date: Tuesday, October 12th (7:30 pm CDT)

Dr. Armstrong received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. To continue his training Dr. Armstrong did an internship in General Surgery and a Residency in Neurological Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Armstrong has conducted many research investigations from concussions to spinal trauma. Dr. Armstrong teaches at UCLA School of Medicine as an Assistant Clinic Professor of Neurosurgery. Join this meeting to hear about the track of becoming a neurosurgeon and day to day perceptive of Dr. Armstrong’s career. This event is open to everyone.

Jessie Todd

Jessie is a current Occupational Therapy student attending Texas Tech Health Science Center and is the current Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) president. Jessie will be speaking about how to apply to Occupational Therapy school and her experience as an Occupational Therapy student. Andre Gomez

Andre is a current Physician Assistant student at The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. Andre will be speaking about how to apply to Physician Assistant school and how to be a competitive applicant. Also, he will speak about his experience being a Physician Assistant student. As an undergraduate he attended Texas Tech majoring in microbiology. Andre was also a member and president of AMSA during his time at Texas Tech. This event will be open to everyone.
