President – Aimee John
Hey guys! My name is Aimee John and I serve as AMSA’s President this year. I’m a senior majoring in Microbiology on the Pre-Med track. I love spending time with friends/family, finding new food spots and watching my favorite shows. A fun fact about is that I was born and raised in Dubai! I’ve been a part of AMSA since my freshman year and I’ve loved the opportunities I’ve had and the connections I’ve build through this organization. I’m excited to pass that forward and meet all of you!
Vice President – Connor Hicks
Hey guys! I am a Cell and Molecular Biology major on the Pre-med track. This year I will be a junior in addition to also being the Vice President for our chapter. Aside from school, I enjoy training for the Raider Wrestling Club, camping, and other outdoor activities. Fun Fact: I play two instruments!

Hey AMSA family! My Name is Daniah Nesar, and I am excited to serve as Secretary for the 2022 – 2023 academic year! I am a senior Cell & Molecular Biology major on the pre-med track from Dallas, TX. In my free time, you can find me crocheting, watching K-dramas, or reading. Fun fact about me, I know 4 languages: English, Urdu, Hindi, and Spanish. I love learning about new cultures and languages. My journey with AMSA has been incredible, allowing me to connect with various opportunities tailored for pre-health students. Healthcare Networking Director – Ghufran Murtuza
Hello AMSA family! My name is Ghufran Murtuza, and I will be the Networking Director for the
2023-2024 school year. I am a junior Microbiology major with minors in Chemistry, Spanish, and
Health Professions. I am from Coppell, Texas, and I am on the Pre-Med track. In my free time I
enjoy playing video games, basketball, and working with technology. A fun fact about me is that I also do research in the endocrinology field, studying the effects of the Corticotropin Releasing Factors (CRF) in anxiety and feeding behaviors in Xenopus Laevis (frogs). As Networking
Director, I aim to provide AMSA members with opportunities to interact and learn from various
medical professionals from all aspects of healthcare, such as physicians, physician assistants,
nurses, and many more. We also bring in a variety of speakers, from admissions committee
members, medical school recruiters, and current medical students. We are also open to
suggestions for speakers, so if you know someone who would be willing to share their insights,
don’t hesitate to reach out!

Hi AMSA! My name is Michaela Perez and I will be serving as the Director of Public Relations this year! I am currently a senior majoring in General Studies with concentrations in Biology, Chemistry and Health Professions on the Pre-PA track. Community Service Co Directors- Johnathan Locke and Leo Zheng

Social Director – Hanuk Kwon
Hello, my name is Hanuk Kwon, and I am glad to work as the Social Director for the American Medical Student Association at TTU this year! I am studying Biochemistry, minoring in Biology, and this is my last year in Tech. I am on pre-medicine track, and I am excited to work with many of you sharing similar interests with me. When I have free time, I enjoy journaling, cycling and fish keeping, assuming that I am not taking a nap. Fun fact time! I tried to grow a beard 5 times but failed. Also, I don’t like putting sunscreen on.

Hey guys! My name is Tanner Taylor, and it is an honor to be serving as the Director of Advocacy for the 2023-2024 year. I am a Junior majoring in Microbiology on the Pre-Med track from Flower Mound, Texas. In my free time, I love playing soccer, working out, and volleyball. This year I am excited to work with my committee in expanding the Advocacy division to give everyone a voice and platform to demonstrate their passion and love for healthcare. A fun fact about me is that the only bone I have broken was my neck while sledding.
