Other Opportunities

STEM & Leaf Corps

The STEM & Leaf Corps is a education-based outreach initiative with two main goals.

First, they aim to maximize the potential of each and every student they work with at the primary and secondary education levels. To meet the demand of our students, they offer high-level educational outreach in the form of Project-Based Learning, AP/IB Review Sessions, National Science Bowl Lectures, STAAR specific small-group sessions, and concept-driven tutoring at all levels free-of-charge.

Second, they aim to give their high achieving undergraduate students from various disciplines the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in instruction, leadership, and communication while stimulating an interest in the incorporation of teaching into their future careers.

Tech Music Med

Tech Music Med is a group of musicians who use their musical gifts as a means of therapy for patients in a medical setting. The goal of TMM is to provide a cheerful, joyous, celebratory environment in order to promote the spiritual, mental, emotional well-being of patients by performing at local hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes. We will be working with patients, young and old, from all walks of life. Due to COVID-19 limitations, TMM will be holding virtual concerts (as opposed to in-person) until further notice. This is an excellent opportunity to stay involved while also bridging the gap between music and medicine!

If you are interested, please email Raghavi.Rajesh@ttu.edu for more information. TMM will be hosting an Informational Meeting of their own soon, so stay tuned.
